280SL

The production for the 280SL began in December 1967, and continued through to 23 February 1971, when the manufacturing of the W113 came to an end. The 280SL was the most produced of the three models, with 23,885 having sold.

The chassis was based on the W111 sedan platform, due to the popularity in it’s stylistic characteristics, yet the car sported a reduced wheelbase, by 11.8inches. They have a double wishbone front suspension and an independant single-joint. The cars also feature recirculating ball steering, with optional power steering, as well as low pivot swing rear axle with transverse compensator spring.

280SL

In the process of restoring a Pagoda to it’s factory standard, the colour is to be carefully considered. These are the origionally avaliable colours for the W113 vehicles, we use as inspiration to preserve the authenticity of the classic cars.

280SL Specifications

The 280SL  has a dual-circuit brake system consisting of front disc brakes and power-assisted rear drum brakes. When buying the car from factory, you had the option of a 4-speed manual transmission, or a 4-speed manual transmission, paired with very responsive fluid, meaning no torque converter (this was popular among US models).

The 280SL model was a 2,308cc / 2.3L M127.II inline-six engine with 150HP @ 5500rpm and 20.0 mkg @ 4200rpm torque.

230SL

In June 1963, the 230SL was initially introduced to the market at the Geneva Motor Show. This was the first of the W113 models, with it’s innovative design sparking alot of interest.

250SL

In December 1966, 3 years after the 230SL was brought to the market, the 250SL was introduced, and then produced through until 1968. With this one-year production run, the 250SL is the rarest model of the Pagoda’s, with only 5,196 produced.

280SL
